All About Lioness: Thrifted Finds, Healing our Hearts & Honoring Community

The stunning sisters, Kayra & Laura Theodore.

Lioness is a creative closet stored with healing resources, curated finds and pieces that speak to the purpose and soul within us. More than just clothes- it's a mission focused on supporting any woman in need to walk in her calling, live in worthiness, deeply learn and move with a divine confidence.

The Roots of Lioness Vintage

Lioness Vintage is a mission God put on my heart, witnessing the call for support and aid for women in need in the New York City & New Jersey area. It sparked from the many stories I heard through the years searching for a space which served both practical, spiritual and creative needs. A space where both healing and fashion could merge together. Where creativity and faith could thrive.

Lioness is rooted in provision, unshakeable faith and restoration. Every piece is hand-selected from all regions of the world- from Mexico City to London to New York City. Each piece speaks to the beauty of what is often overlooked. A soul-level beauty that reflects our inner-selves.

How Thrifting Sparked an Inner-Joy

Growing up, I witnessed the beauty from ashes in thrifted finds, yard sale treasures and flea market gems. Rummaging through piles of clothes that others may have seen as worthless but knowing that I could find that piece that was rare, unique and outspoken.

It is seeing beyond the surface and the joy it can spark. It is a reimagining of what is preloved and how it can be loved again and again. A faith.

I saw that sparked joy in myself and others when they discovered a piece they loved. The moment you find that piece that holds to your body like a warm hug, it brightens your face, accentuates your beauty, ignites a subtle radiance and feels like home. A home at peace and says everything will be alright. I learned that clothing, in its quiet way, can become a vessel for transformation.

A True Lioness, Kara.

Las Flores Se Dan en Vida: Learning the Art of Resourcefulness & Giving

As a child, this played out as I saw the actions and outpour of my mother and grandmother into our local community. Humble and always unique outreach- using their gifting to serve those around them. There were days  when my mom would simply set up tables of free clothes in the front of our house paired with devotionals in English and Spanish. I would watch so many come out from all walks of life- it was the beauty of seeing others, bringing together community and resourcefulness. People in awe and filled with gratitude walking away with clothes for their family or for themselves.

Then I saw my grandmother as a florist, making beautiful bouquets and donating them for someone's wedding, constantly giving with intentionality and care. Living out the saying she often spoke “las flores se dan en vida” or give your flowers in life.

My abuela Lucia from Toa Alta, Puerto Rico.

They taught me the true art of resourcefulness. Using what we had to pour into someone else. Understanding the gifts God plants within us can be monumentally used. An inner-knowing that we are all called for a greater purpose to pour back into others.

All the stories, the wisdom passed down from my mother and grandmother, the people I meet while exploring and sourcing and each woman that embodies each piece are the foundation of Lioness Vintage.

My beautiful friend, Arielle Yasmine Moore.

This is a space for voices to be heard, testimonies to be shared, to acknowledge the truth when we feel scared or anxious but to walk away transformed. A space to be encouraged by another woman. To be uplifted by her words and seen. It is a community built on God's love and truly walking in the worthiness affirmed by Him.

Lioness is a closet where you are clothed with strength and dignity and can laugh at the days to come.

It is time for you to heal. It is time for you to share your story. Your voice and gifts are needed.
