A Mothers Embrace: A Short Poem
Krystal & Zanaya. December 2023. Portrait on 120mm.
There’s no fabric softer than your skin,
Yet your very being exudes strength.
Our heartbeats are in sync,
Yet, when you inhale, I exhale.
You used to tell me to hold tight your hand,
Now I tell you to hold mine.
Tearfully we stare into each other’s eyes, silently praying,
“Please…don’t grow up.”
